We were called to check the siding on a chimney.

This is what we found behind the siding. Water had been leaking for some time due to poor flashing and materials used.

 We found that the flashing did not go past the shingles.

 The corners of the flashing were also done improperly.

 We found the damage extended to the side wall as well and had to replace it as well.

The top of the chimney was also compromised because the wood was not properly caulked and sealed.

After replacing the damaged plywood we covered the chimney with Tyvex to prevent water and air infilteration in the future.

The completed chimney with Azek trim boards and Hardi siding both products are guaranteed not to rot.
